UPDATE: *NOW OPEN* BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 838 near Cheniere in Ouachita Parish

LA 838 in Ouachita Parish is now open.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Tuesday, January, 24, 2023, LA 838 will be closed to thru traffic.

This bridge is located approximately 1.8 miles west of its intersection with LA 3033 in Ouachita Parish.

This road closure is necessary to allow for routine bridge maintenance.

The LA 838 bridge closure is anticipated to last 2 weeks, and should be reopened Friday, February 3, 2023.

DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.

Permit/Detour:

The detour route will be LA 838, LA 546, I-20, and LA 617.
