Baton Rouge – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), on behalf the United States Coast Guard, is requesting public comment on the proposed marine clearances for a new U.S. 90 bridge over the West Pearl River near White Kitchen in St. Tammany Parish.

DOTD proposes to replace the existing vertical lift bridge with a new bridge. The existing bridge was closed to traffic and can no longer be used due to deterioration in the bridge’s structural elements. The existing bridge will be removed in its entirety. The proposed bridge will consist of concrete girder spans.

Waterway users are encouraged to view the public notice on the environmental project website, which contains conceptual bridge sketches and directions to return comment.
