UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 514 over Bayou Chicot, Red River Parish


(UPDATE 8/31/2022): This repair work is complete and the LA 514 bridge over Bayou Chicot in Red River Parish has been reopened.

(Original notification):

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, August 22, 2022, the LA 514 bridge over Bayou Chicot in Red River Parish will be closed.

This bridge closure is scheduled to take place for one week, and is necessary for DOTD crews to perform bridge maintenance.

This bridge is located approximately 1.8 miles east of the intersection of LA 514 and US 71.

Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.

Permits/Restrictions: Total bridge closure. All vehicles will need to detour.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
