OPEN TO TRAFFIC: Roundabout on US 425 in Rayville, Richland Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the newly constructed roundabout on US 425 at the intersection of Louisa Street and Julia Street in Rayville, Richland Parish is now fully open to traffic.

Navigating a roundabout is simple – when you approach the roundabout, you should yield to any traffic that is already in the circle.

When it’s clear, proceed to enter the roundabout, proceed around the center island, and then take the necessary right-hand turn to exit.

If there is no traffic in the roundabout, you do not have to come to a full stop.

Roundabouts improve traffic flow and congestion, as well as safety at intersections by eliminating conflict points.
