The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that LA 501; Iron Branch Bridge, is NOW OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC.

** LA 501: IRON BRANCH BRIDGE **

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that beginning Monday, November 1st, 2021 at 6:00 A.M, LA 501 between the LA 126 and LA 1232 will be closed. This work will consist reinforced concrete box culvert replacement. The closure can be expected to last until Friday, January 8th, 2022 at 6:00 P.M.

Permit/Detour section
LA 501 Northbound Detour
Traffic will be detoured West onto LA 156. Traffic will then take a right onto LA 1233 Northbound followed by another right onto LA 126 Eastbound. Traffic will then be detoured back onto LA 501.
LA 501 Southbound Detour
Traffic will be detoured West onto LA 126. Traffic will then take a left onto LA 1233 Southbound followed by another left onto LA 156 Eastbound. Traffic will then be detoured back onto LA 501.
No Permit loads will be allowed on LA 501 between LA 156 and LA 126.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
