DOTD to make emergency railing repair

NEW ORLEANS — The right lane on I-10 Westbound near the Canal Street exit (235B) is re-open following an early morning crash.

Shortly before 4:00, a box truck went through the right concrete railing and fell to the street below. DOTD is on the shoulder blocking the section of railing until emergency repairs can be made. Roughly, 40 to 50 feet of railing was damaged. DOTD crews are waiting until peak traffic time subsides around 9:00 a.m. to begin making emergency repairs using water-filled barriers. When repairs begin, the right lane will close until all work is complete.

Plan an alternate route if you typically travel between the I-10/ 90 Business West split. Real time updates are available through 511la.org as well as MyDOTD.
