**UPDATE**The traffic signal will be turned-on on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, weather permitting.

Ouachita Parish-
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will modify an intersection in the City of Richwood in Ouachita Parish through the installation of a new traffic signal.

The new signal will be located at the intersection of US 165 and Richwood Road No. 2.

The traffic signal is scheduled at this time to be turned-on on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, weather permitting.

The change in traffic control comes as a result of a traffic engineering study performed by DOTD District staff. The results of that study indicate that there exists a potential for safety improvement and reduction in crashes through the installation of a traffic signal.

Other safety measures are taken into consideration during this process to determine the most appropriate action to take at a particular intersection.

When installed where they meet the necessary criteria, traffic signals can assist with the orderly flow of traffic, increase an intersection’s vehicle capacity, and improve the safety of both pedestrians and motorists.

Motorists should be aware that the new traffic signal is scheduled to be operational on February 23, and should approach the intersection with caution as drivers adjust to the change.
