The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), announces that weather permitting, clearing and grubbing operations will begin on the LA 392 bridge project on Monday, January 24, 2022 and will continue for approximately two (2) weeks. In order to facilitate utility relocations on the project, the contractor will clear and grub the site and demobilize until utility relocations are complete. A subsequent press release will be issued prior to the contractor resuming operations. This bridge replacement project is located on LA 392, beginning at the junction of LA 392 and Cecil Prewitt Rd and ending east of the junction of LA 392 and Erwin Rd. This 0.439-mile-long project will receive clearing and grubbing, removal of timber bridges, grading, drainage structures, pavement patching, class II base course, lime treatment, asphalt concrete overlay, precast concrete piles, concrete slab span bridges, and related work.

The project was awarded to the lowest bidder, WL Bass Construction Inc., in the amount of $5,131,701.93.

Permit/Detour section
The contractor will begin clearing and grubbing on Monday, January 24, 2022. The roadway will remain open to all local and through traffic with no restrictions. The roadway will be reduced to one lane during construction operations.
