LA 70: Ascension P/L West to Ascension P/L East, Ascension & St. James Parishes: Sunshine Bridge Ramp Closures**UPDATE**

Construction has begun for State Project H.013726 LA 70: Ascension P/L West to Ascension P/L East in Ascension & St. James Parishes for a length of 8.703 miles. The type of work is grading, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, class II base course, asphalt concrete pavement, and related work.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of ramp closures on LA 70 Sunshine Bridge ramps. The closures will be intermittent beginning with the westbound on ramp, and the eastbound exit ramp to follow. The contractor will close the westbound on ramp on Monday, November 22, 2021 Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 7:00 am to 4:00, weather permitting. The following day the eastbound exit ramp will be closed on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 7:00 am to 4:00, weather permitting. The contractor will have two milling crews working simultaneously on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. One crew will be working the eastbound exit ramp while the other crew mills eastbound LA 70 connector from LA 44 to LA 70, with a flagging operation. These closures will allow the contractor to begin milling in preparation for paving operation.
No vehicles will be allowed through the construction zone for the ramp closures.
