BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $28 million at its March 30 public bid opening, according to DOTD Secretary Sherri H. LeBas, P.E.

With a bid of $6,697,627.38, Fenton Excavating & Construction Inc., Chesterfield, Mich., was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let March 30, a project in Orleans Davis Parish calling for the installation of drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, concrete pavement, installing lighting, bridge widening and related work on La. 428 from Mardi Gras Boulevard to Holiday Drive, and from Holiday Drive to Park Fontaine, Fenton Excavating & Construction Inc., Chesterfield, Mich., $6,697,627.38.
