LA 70: Ascension P/L West to Ascension P/L East, Ascension & St. James Parishes

Construction has begun for State Project H.013726 LA 70: Ascension P/L West to Ascension P/L East in Ascension & St. James Parishes for a length of 8.703 miles. The type of work is grading, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, class II base course, asphalt concrete pavement, and related work.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of intermittent lane closures along LA 70 to begin West of the LA 3127 intersection in Ascension Parish up to the Ascension/St. James parish line on the eastbank of the Mississippi River. The contractor will begin work Monday, October 11, 2021 with two crews, one in St. James Parish and one in Ascension Parish. Motorist should expect intermittent lane closures with flagging operation from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for weeks to come, weather permitting. This closure will allow the contractor to begin patching portion of LA 70 in prepartion for paving operation.

No oversized loads greater than 16’ wide will be allowed through the construction zone during lane closures.
