ROAD CLOSURE: LA 5 between Gloster & Kingston, DeSoto Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that LA 5 between Gloster and Kingston in DeSoto Parish will be closed beginning on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
This full road closure will be located on LA 5 from approximately 2.5 miles east of its intersection with US 171 near Gloster to approximately 2 miles west of its intersection with LA 175 near Kingston.
This road closure is scheduled to last 21 days, weather permitting, and is associated with the ongoing construction project to realign a section of LA 5 to lessen and smooth out a curve.
Alternate route:
- Westbound traffic: LA 175 north to LA 3276 west to US 171 south to LA 5 west.
- Eastbound traffic: US 171 north to LA 3276 east to I-49 south to LA 175 south to LA 5 east.
Access for local traffic only will be maintained during the closure. Thru traffic will need to detour using posted signage.
Restrictions/Permits: N/A
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
