UPDATE:
I-55 Northbound between LA 3234 and the MS State Line is NOW OPEN.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, I-55 northbound from LA 3234 (West University Avenue) to the Mississippi state line is closed to traffic due to vegetative debris.
DOTD is working to remove debris from the northbound lanes and it is unsafe for travel at this time.
I-55 southbound is open and safe for travel.
