DOTD announces start of construction project on La. 697 in Vermilion Parish

VERMILION PARISH, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that it recently began construction on a $3,207,851 project on La. 697 in Vermilion Parish.
The project will begin at the intersection at La. 343 and continue until the intersection at U.S. 167. The work consists of milling, patching, base stabilization, overlay, drainage, and other related work.
The work is estimated to take place on Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.
The road will be open to regular traffic with a 14-foot width restriction for the duration of this project.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the area.
The project is estimated for completion in the spring of 2022.
