NOW OPEN: LA 556 South of Choudrant in Jackson Parish

*****UPDATE: LA 556 SOUTH OF CHOUDRANT HAS BEEN REOPENED TO TRAFFIC.*****
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Saturday, August 21, 2021, LA 556 will be closed 3.5 miles east of LA 145 in Jackson Parish. This road will remain closed until approximately Sunday, August 22, 2021.
The purpose of this road closure is to allow for the necessary replacement of a cross drain pipe.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.
