UPDATE - LANE REOPENED: LA 526 (W. Bert Kouns) westbound near Buncombe Road, Caddo Parish

Original notification (7/31/2021):

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the right westbound lane of LA 526 (W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop) near its intersection with Buncombe Road in Shreveport, Caddo Parish is closed for necessary roadway maintenance.

This lane closure will remain in place until DOTD crews can perform repairs.

Motorists are advised that roadway anomalies such as heaves or “blow ups” can occur unpredictably on concrete roads – particularly during the summertime - due to a combination of extreme heat and moisture. This causes the roadway surface to expand at a crack or joint where moisture has seeped in, sometimes leading to a buckle or warp in the pavement.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
