UPDATE: Nightly lane closures, I-49 north pavement markings, Caddo Parish
UPDATE: DOTD advises motorists that the daytime lane closures associated with the ongoing project to replace the pavement markings on I-49 north in Caddo Parish will transition to nightly lane closures on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 due to excessive heat during the daytime.
The nightly lane closures will begin at approximately 7:00 p.m. and reopen by 6:00 a.m. each morning.
The project extends from LA 530 near Belcher to the Arkansas state line, and is anticipated to be complete in late Summer 2021, with progress dependent on weather conditions.
Motorists should be aware that crews will be conducting nightly rolling lane closures, which are slow moving operations. Please use caution, pay attention to changing roadway conditions, and continue to be aware of crews and their equipment that may be on site.
Pavement markings are used to convey messages to roadway users. They indicate which part of the road to use, provide information about conditions ahead, and indicate where passing is allowed. Pavement markings provide continuous information to motorists related to roadway alignment, vehicle positioning, and other important driving-related tasks.
