Jefferson Parish- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an upcoming full road closure on U.S. 90 in Jefferson Parish beginning 7 p.m. on Friday, July 16 until 4 a.m. on Monday, July 19. This closure extends from Dakin St. to Iris Ave. in Metairie.

This closure is part of a $5.4 million project to mill and overlay U.S. 90 and LA 3046 and is necessary for the New Orleans Public Belt to excavate the roadway and replace railroad tracks. Motorists are advised to use the alternate detour on Deckbar Ave. and Earhart Expressway for eastbound traffic and Monticello St. and River Rd. for westbound traffic.

This closure will not allow vehicles to pass through the railroad tracks. Access will be allowed for local traffic and for adjacent businesses to U.S. 90.

The entire project is anticipated to be completed February 2022, weather dependent.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
