***UPDATE: Repairs have been made and the road is now open***
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there is an EMERGENCY alternating, northbound lane closure of US 61 (Airline Hwy) at Choctaw Dr. This closure is taking place today--Thursday, July 8,2021 from 11:00 AM until repairs are completed.
The emergency lane closures are necessary to perform an emergency railroad repair.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the closure and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
