I-49 NB Entrance Ramp to I-10 EB, Lafayette Parish, Ramp Closure

UPDATE: The closure previously scheduled for Wednesday, June 9 at 8:00 p.m. until Thursday, June 10 at 6:00 a.m. has been canceled.

The entrance ramp of I-10 eastbound at I-49 will be closed on the following nights, weather permitting:

  • Wednesday, June 9 at 8:00 p.m. until Thursday, June 10 at 6:00 a.m. ----CANCELED
  • Thursday, June 10 at 8:00 p.m. until Friday, June 11 at 6:00 a.m.

This closure is necessary to allow crews to perform asphalt operations on the roadway.

The detour for traffic will be to utilize the interchange clover leaf ramps by taking Exit 1B (I-10 westbound entrance ramp), Exit 103A (US 167 South exit ramp), and I-10 Eastbound via Exit 1A.

Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to LA 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in summer 2021.
