UPDATE - REOPENED: Belle River Pontoon Bridge (LA 70), Assumption/St. Martin Parish line
UPDATE (5/24/2021 5:45PM): DOTD advises motorists that the Belle River Pontoon Bridge located on LA 70 at the Assumption Parish/St. Martin Parish line has resumed normal operations and is now back open to vehicular traffic, effective immediately.

UPDATE (5/24/2021 1:00PM): The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the Belle River Pontoon Bridge located on LA 70 over Avoca Island Cutoff at the Assumption Parish/St. Martin Parish line will be closed to vehicular traffic from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. until further notice.
This closure is due to high water as a result of recent inclement weather.
