UPDATE: I-10 WB traffic shift from I-210 to north of LA 108 in Calcasieu Parish

UPDATE
: Due to weather, the contractor was not able to complete the traffic shift Sunday evening. The traffic shift will occur tonight, March 15, 2021, weather permitting. I-10 westbound between I-210 and LA 108 will have alternating lane closures to stripe the new lanes tonight, March 15 at 9 p.m. to Tuesday, March 16 at 5 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the closure and the traffic shift will be rescheduled again.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that motorists can expect a traffic shift on I-10 westbound from the I-210 interchange to north of the LA 108 interchange during the evening of Sunday, March, 14, 2021.

Alternating lane closures on I-10 westbound between I-210 and LA 108 will be required to stripe the new lanes. This closure and the traffic shift will occur between 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 14 and 5 a.m. on Monday, March 15.

The two I-10 westbound travel lanes will shift to the newly constructed inside lanes. The service road at LA 108 will return to normal operation for motorists exiting the interstate and will no longer be used for interstate traffic.

The construction crew has completed construction of the inside travel lanes and southern portion of the Maple Fork Bridge on I-10 westbound. The traffic shift will allow the contractor to reconstruct the outside lanes and replace the northern portion of the Maple Fork Bridge on I-10 westbound. Work continues on the installation of the median barrier, the widening and reconstruction of the eastbound travel lanes, and replacement of the northern portion of the Maple Fork Bridge on I-10 eastbound.

All dates and activity are weather dependent. The entire project is expected to be complete in fall 2021.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with extreme caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
