UPDATE: This closure is extended to include Thursday, March 4 at 8:00 p.m. until Friday, March 5 at 6:00 a.m. & Friday, March 5 at 8:00 p.m. until Saturday, March 6 at 6:00 a.m. Thank you for your patience.



The I-10 eastbound entrance ramp at Exit 109 (Breaux Bridge) will be closed on the following nights, weather permitting:

  • Sunday, February 28 at 8:00 p.m. until Monday, March 1 at 6:00 a.m.
  • Monday, March 1 at 8:00 p.m. until Tuesday, March 2 at 6:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday, March 2 at 8:00 p.m. until Wednesday, March 3 at 6:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday March 3 at 8:00 p.m. until Thursday, March 4 at 6:00 a.m.

These closures are necessary to allow crews to continue asphalt operations.

The detour for eastbound traffic is to take I-10 westbound to Exit 104 (LA Avenue) then back onto I-10 eastbound.

Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to LA 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in May 2021.
