UPDATE: LA 577 in Madison Parish, at the location described below, has been reopened to traffic.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that LA 577 approximately 6 miles south of I-20 in Madison Parish, is CLOSED effective immediately due to a downed power line.
DOTD will advise when the road has been re-opened.
DOTD reminds motorists that it is unsafe and unlawful to drive onto a closed road past a “road closed” barricade at any time for any reason.
