UPDATE: Rescheduled - DOTD announces bridge closure on Little Chenier Road in Creole – Cameron Parish
UPDATE: This closure has been rescheduled for today, February 25, 2021.
UPDATE: This road closure has been postponed. Due to the recent weather, the contractor is still gathering the necessary materials to begin this project. Once the necessary materials are received, the contractor will close the road and begin the project. DOTD will announce the new closure date when that information becomes available.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the bridge on Little Chenier Road between LA 27 and Muria Road is scheduled for replacement. The bridge will close on Monday, February 22, 2021, and is expected to remain closed until fall 2021.
The project, which costs more than $600 thousand, will remove and replace the entire bridge structure and install new guardrail, concrete barrier, and permanent pavement markings. During the project, motorists may detour by using LA 1143 and Muria Road.
The entire project is expected to be complete fall 2021 with progress dependent on weather.
