UPDATE - REVISED DATES/TIMES - Nighttime closures on I-10, US 171 in Lake Charles – Calcasieu Parish

UPDATE: Due to weather, these closures have new dates and times. The revised closure schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, January 25, at 8 p.m. until Tuesday, January 26, at 5 a.m. - I-10 eastbound left lane closure from
  • Tuesday, January 26, at 8 p.m. until Wednesday, January 27, at 5 a.m. - I-10 westbound left lane closure
  • Wednesday, January 27, to Thursday, January 28, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. - I-10 eastbound left lane closure
  • Friday, January 29, at 10 p.m. until Saturday, January 30, at 9 a.m. - -10 eastbound left lane closure
  • Saturday, January 30, at 10 p.m. until Sunday, January 31, at 9 a.m. - I-10 eastbound double left lane closures
  • Sunday, January 31, at 8 p.m. until Monday, February 1, at 5 a.m. - I-10 westbound double right lane closures
  • Monday, February 1, at 8 p.m. until Tuesday, February 2, at 5 a.m. – US 171 southbound shoulder closure

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Sunday, January 24, 2021, there will be nighttime closures on I-10 from Enterprise Boulevard to east of Shattuck Street and on US 171 from Opelousas Street to north of Moeling Street in Calcasieu Parish.

The closure schedule is as follows:

  • Sunday January 24, at 8 p.m. until Monday, January 25, at 5 a.m. - I-10 eastbound left lane closure from
  • Monday, January 25, at 8 p.m. until Tuesday, January 26, at 5 a.m. - I-10 westbound left lane closure
  • Tuesday, January 26, to Thursday, January 28, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. - I-10 eastbound left lane closure
  • Friday, January 29, at 10 p.m. until Saturday, January 30, at 9 a.m. - I-10 eastbound double left lane closures
  • Saturday, January 30, at 10 p.m. until Sunday, January 31, at 9 a.m. - I-10 westbound double right lane closures
  • Sunday, January 31, at 8 p.m. until Monday, February 1, at 5 a.m. – US 171 southbound shoulder closure

The I-10 westbound entrance ramp at Shattuck Street and the exit ramp at Enterprise Boulevard (exit 31A) will also be closed on Saturday, January 30, at 10 p.m. to Sunday, January 31, at 9 a.m. Traffic will be detoured to the next on ramp on the frontage road.

These closures will allow crews to remove and install new interstate overhead truss signs on I-10 at Enterprise Bouvlad and US 171 at I-10 and related work. All work is weather dependent.
