US 61: Bayou Manchac & Bayou Francois Bridges, Lane Closure, East Baton Rouge & Ascension Parishes

Construction has begun for State Project H.000337 US 61: Bayou Manchac & Bayou Francois Bridges, East Baton Rouge & Ascension Parishes for a length of 1.490 miles. The type of work is clearing and grubbing, removal of bridges, grading, drainage structures, class II base course, lime treatment, pavement patching, milling asphalt concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, riprap, flexible revetment, precast concrete barrier, temporary detour roads, precast concrete piles, concrete slab span bridge, precast pre-stressed concrete girder bridges, temporary detour bridge (concrete) and related work.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of an upcoming lane closure at Bayou Manchac Bridge on US 61 (Airline Hwy.) 1 mile North of LA 427 (Perkins Rd.). Motorist should expect a lane closure on Thursday December 17, 2020. The outside northbound lane on US 61 will have a continuous closure, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, weather permitting. This closure will allow the contractor to move pile driving template from the northside to the southside in preparation for driving piles.
