The type of work is clearing and grubbing, removal of bridges, grading, drainage structures, class II base course, lime treatment, pavement patching, milling asphalt concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, riprap, flexible revetment, precast concrete barrier, temporary detour roads, precast concrete piles, concrete slab span bridge, precast pre-stressed concrete girder bridges, temporary detour bridge (concrete) and related work.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of intermittent lane closure at Bayou Manchac Bridge on US 61 (Airline Hwy.) 1 mile North of LA 427 (Perkins Rd.). Beginning November 20, 2020 there will be intermittent lane closure for an emergency repair on the southbound detour bridge. Motorists traveling southbound on US 61 detour bridge will be shifted to a single lane intermittently. This shift is necessary to allow the contractor to perform an emergency repair asphalt patch to the southside bridge approach.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
