BATON ROUGE, La. – LA Swift, the free bus service that transports displaced residents, workers and job-seekers between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, will discontinue service at the Highland Road and Sorrento stops as of Sept. 23.
The decision to discontinue service at these stops is a result of low rider numbers. The number of riders for these two stops is less than 3 percent of the total rider-ship for the service.
The bus service will continue making stops in LaPlace in addition to providing express service between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
