LA 507 OVERPASS @ I-20 (EXIT 77) / LINCOLN PARISH

*****UPDATE: THE LA 507 OVERPASS HAS BEEN REOPENED TO TRAFFIC.*****

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Friday, November 20, 2020, JB James Construction will begin replacement of the four bridge spans on the LA 507 (Exit 77) overpass located between Mile Marker 76 and Mile Marker 78 on I-20 in Simsboro, Lincoln Parish. The LA 507 Overpass will be closed to traffic beginning at noon on Friday, November 20, 2020 and will remain closed until December 15, 2020.

There will be two separate weekend lane closures on I-20 to allow the contractor to remove the old bridge spans and replace with the newly constructed bridge spans. The first will be Friday, November 20, 2020 at 8:00 pm thru Monday, November 23, 2020 at 7:00 am. The second will be Friday, December 4, 2020 at 8:00 pm thru Monday, December 7, 2020 at 7:00 am.

In order to conduct this work safely, I-20 traffic will be reduced to one lane eastbound and westbound. Traffic will then be diverted onto newly constructed diversion roads, then back onto their respective lanes on I-20.

In addition to the lane closures, there will also be four rolling closures on I-20 westbound Friday, November 20, 2020 and Saturday, November 21, 2020. These rolling closures will allow the contractor to move equipment and bridge spans across I-20. Each rolling closure is expected to last approximately 10 minutes and motorists should be prepared to stop.

These lane closures/diversion and the closure of LA 507 are part of the $6 million project to replace the LA 507 Overpass over I-20.

Alternate Route: Detour for LA 507 closure will be LA 544, LA 563, and US 80
