DOTD announces project to improve LA 27 in north Calcasieu Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to improve 8 miles of LA 27 in north Calcasieu Parish.

The $900,000 project begins at the intersection of Rigmaiden Cemetery Road and continues to High Hope Road, and will microsurface the roadway which will improve safety and the ride quality. The contract was awarded to Vance Brothers Inc., and work is anticipated to begin Friday, October 23, 2020. Motorists can expect to see daytime intermittent one lane closures throughout the duration of the project. Traffic will be maintained through the work zone by flaggers and/or a pilot car.

The entire project is expected to be complete by the end of year, weather permitting. When conditions are too cold to continue with asphalt operations, the project will be halted.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
