DOTD announces a project to improve capacity at LA 385 and College Street in Calcasieu Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a low-cost capacity improvement project at the intersection of LA 385 (Ryan Street) and College Street in Lake Charles. The project will improve capacity for northbound traffic by removing the concrete median and adjusting the left turn lane to create three northbound lanes.

The $150,000 project is expected to begin Monday, October 19, 2020, at 8 a.m. and is anticipated to be complete in approximately 2 months. The northbound left turn lane will be closed for the duration of the project; however, traffic will be allowed to perform left turns from the northbound through lane. The northbound through lanes will have short term lane closures that will be announced as needed.

All dates and work are weather dependent. John Bailey, Inc. is the contractor for the project.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
