Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 3:31:25 PM
Construction has begun for State Project H.002370, LA 42 Widening. The project consists of grading, drainage structures, subgrade treatment, drilled shaft foundations, traffic signalization, landscaping, asphalt concrete pavement, portland cement concrete pavement, and related work in Ascension Parish.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be shift to the inside eastbound lane from Roy's ice to Manchac Acres, then back to the outside lane at Manchac Acres. Motorists will also be shifted to the inside westbound lane at Istrouma Church and remain on the inside lane throughout the length of the project. The transition will take place July 20, 2020. This will allow the contractor to begin pouring outside curb and catch basins, and to complete the remaining asphalt on the outside lane on LA 42.

No permit or oversize loads greater than 10’ feet wide will be able to pass.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
