*** UPDATE*** I-110 is closed in both directions from North 22nd Street to Capitol Access Road due to flooding
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public effective immediately I-110 is closed from Capitol Access Road to Senic Highway due to flooding issues.DOTD staff are working to resolve the issue. As always, DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through work zones and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
During unfavorable weather conditions, motorists should drive using the following safety tips:
• Drive slowly and carefully.
• Avoid driving into standing or running water.
• Avoid driving while distracted.
• Avoid using cruise control when visibility is low or road surfaces are wet.
• Always allow for extra driving time.
• Reduce speeds when visibility is low.
• Make sure there is plenty of room between vehicles.
• Avoid using highway overpasses as tornado shelters
