DOTD Announces November 17, 2004, Bid Letting Results

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $44 million at its November 17 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $20,370,787.00, Gilchrist Construction Co., LLC, Alexandria, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Sabine Parish calling for grading, drainage structures, lime treatment, class II base course, portland cement concrete pavement, superpave, concrete slab span bridge, and related work on US 171 from Many to Zwolle.

            Allen, Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis – Maintenance mowing and litter and trash collection on US 90, US 190, US 165, LA 14, and LA 26, Mid-South Resources, Monterey, $101,219.56.

            Ascension – Grading, lime treatment, cold planing, drainage structures, class II base course, roadway widening, superpave, and related work on US 61 from LA 42 to LA 427, Coastal Bridge Co., LLC, Baton Rouge, $2,741,886.04.

            Grading, cold planing, cement treated base course, superpave, and related work on LA 405 from LA 1 to the Iberville Parish line, Coastal Bridge Co., LLC, Baton Rouge, $1,997,074.30.

            Bossier – Grading, drainage structures, superpave, and related work on LA 157 from Ivan to Rocky Mount, Benton & Brown, LLC, Minden, $696,889.35.

            Bossier, Caddo –  Installation of CCTV video cameras, radar vehicle detectors, dynamic message signs, ITS hub sites, and related work on I-20, Mastec North America Inc., Round Rock, TX, $5,983,480.26.

            District 04 interstate guard rail upgrades, includes guard rail replacement and related work on I-20, Alpha Service and Products, Inc., Marthaville, $1,636,323.60.

            East Baton Rouge – Grading, drainage structures, lime treatment, class II base course, superpave, portland cement concrete pavement, traffic signalization, and related work on US 61 at Siegen Lane, Coastal Bridge Co., LLC, Baton Rouge, $4,399,274.10.

            East Feliciana – Grading, cement treated base course, superpave, and related work on LA 956 from LA 412 to LA 19, W. E. Blain & Sons, Inc., Natchez, MS, $880,966.96.

            Lafourche – Superpave, pavement patching, and related work on LA 655 from LA 1 to LA 308, Coastal Bridge Co., LLC, Baton Rouge, $274,588.25.

            Livingston, Tangipahoa – Cement treated base course, cold planing, superpave, pavement patching, and related work on LA 1064 from LA 43 to US 51, Barriere Construction Co., LLC, Covington, $1,587,221.00.

            Morehouse – Cold planing, superpave, and related work on LA 3051 from US 165 to LA 138, D & J Construction Co., Inc., West Monroe, $1,345,554.98.

            Natchitoches, Rapides – Maintenance mowing and litter and trash collection in Rapides and Natchitoches Parishes, M & M Horticulture Services, Boyce, $320,060.00.

            Rapides – Maintenance mowing and litter and trash collection in Rapides Parish, Mid-South Resources, Monterey, $126,660.44.
