UPDATE: IS NOW OPEN: LA 39 floodgate closure in St. Bernard Parish

UPDATE: THE FLOODGATE HAS BEEN REOPENED
The floodgate on LA 39 at the St. Bernard – Plaquemines Parish line will close at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, because of Tropical Storm Cristobal.
A bypass road is available for light vehicles.
With the threat of severe weather and heavy rainfall that may impact areas of the state, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) reminds motorists to take extra precautions should traveling be necessary.
