Union Pacific Railroad

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that LA 77, Fordoche, Pointe Coupee Parish, will be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks. The work will be done at Milepost 40.935 and is on Control Section 219-05. The closure dates will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 8:00 AM with a reopening on Thursday June 11, 2020 at 7:00 PM. This exact closure will also take place again on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 8:00 AM with a reopening scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 7:00 PM. These closures are necessary for Union Pacific to replace the track panel and crossing surface thru the crossing. This crossing is located by the Dollar General Store in the city limits.

Permit/Detour section
The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The detour will be LA 77 North to LA 10 East to LA 1 South to LA 78 West to US 190 south to LA 77 North. The detour can accept oversized loads and will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
