DOTD Announces August 25, 2004, Bid Letting Results

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $27 million at its August 25 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

            With a bid of $6,970,626.13, F. G. Sullivan Contractor, LLC, Baton Rouge, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in East Baton Rouge Parish calling for grading, class II base course, lime treatment, superpave, drainage structures, sidewalks, and related work on LA 964 from LA 64 to the East Feliciana parish line.

            Acadia – Grading, drainage structures, class II base course, superpave, concrete slab span bridge, and related work on the LA 98 bridge and approaches, Guinn Brothers, LLC, Jennings, $606,480.95.

Beauregard – Removal of bridges, grading, aggregate surfacing, class II base course, superpave, concrete approach slabs, superstructures and substructures, and related work on the Townsley Road and First Pentecostal Church Road Bridges, Guinn Brothers, LLC, Jennings, $1,075,884.16.

Cameron – Lime treatment, cement treated base course, superpave, and related work on LA 384, W. E. McDonald & Son, LLC, Glenmora, $612,207.95.           

            Grant – Grading, drainage structures, cold planning, asphaltic surface treatment, superpave, pavement patching, and related work on US 71 from LA 158 to LA 1240, Diamond B Construction Co., LLC, Alexandria, $1,183,269.72.

            Lincoln – Cold planing, superpave, and related work on I-20 from LA 145 to the Ouachita Parish line, D & J Construction Co., Inc., West Monroe, $1,761,661.23.

Orleans – 2004 USCG drydocking, repairs, and modifications of the M/V Alvin T. Stumpf, Conrad Shipyard, LLC, Morgan City, $584,005.00.

            Ouachita – Grading, class II base course, superpave, concrete slab span bridge, and related work on the Matt Hammond and Sturdivant Roads Bridges, Louisiana Bridge, Inc., Farmerville, $501,544.37.

            Rapides – Grading, pavement patching, cold planing, lime treatment, cement treated base course, superpave, and related work on LA 1 from Macarthur Drive to LA 498, Diamond B Construction Co., LLC, Alexandria, $991,140.38.

            Grading, reinforced concrete box culverts, class II base course, superpave, portland cement concrete slab span bridges, precast–prestressed concrete girder span bridge, and related work on LA 488 bridges, Gilchrist Construction Co., LLC, Alexandria, $3,467,250.80.

            Richland – Grading, class II base course, superpave, concrete slab span bridges, and related work on the Dry Fork Cut Off, Little Creek, and Crew Lake Bridges, Louisiana Bridge, Inc., Farmerville, $948,839.65.

            St. Landry – Grading, clearing and grubbing, drainage structures, class II base course, superpave, concrete slab span bridge, and related work on the Blossom Road and Threatt Street Bridges, Guinn Brothers, LLC, Jennings, $462,444.46.

            St. Martin – Grading, cold planing, asphaltic surface treatment, superpave, pavement patching, and related work on LA 31, H & S Construction Co., Inc., Broussard, $930,493.50.  

            Vermillion – Reinforced concrete pipes, portland cement concrete pavement, class II base course, raised pavement markers, plastic pavement striping, and related work on LA 14 at Magdalan Square, RMK Construction Co., LLC, Deridder, $555,000.00.

            West Carroll – Grading, cement treated base course, superpave, and related work on LA 585 from LA 586 heading east approximately 3.6 miles, D & J Construction Co., Inc., West Monroe, $1,142,404.84.
