Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 8:12:05 AM

UPDATE: Theses closures have been extended to Thursday, April 30 at 8 p.m. until Friday, May 1 at 6 a.m., weather permitting.

The right lane of I-10 eastbound will be closed between mile markers 114.5 and 115 on Wednesday, April 29 at 8 p.m. until Thursday, April 30 at 6 a.m., weather permitting.

Additionally, the off ramp of I-10 eastbound at LA 347 will be closed on Wednesday, April 29 at 8 p.m. until Thursday, April 30 at 6 a.m., weather permitting.

These closures are necessary to finish the asphalt overlay.

The detour for I-10 eastbound traffic will be to continue on I-10 eastbound to Exit 121 – LA 3177 (Butte La Rose) and then onto I-10 westbound to Exit 115 – LA 347 (Henderson, Cecilia).

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project Number H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in September 2020.
