ROAD CLOSURE: LA 144

UPDATE (04/27/2020): THIS HAS BEEN REOPENED.
We anticipate coming back in about two weeks to place asphalt over this. This work will be done under flagging traffic with minor delays.
ROAD CLOSURE: LA 144 near Ashley Griggs Road in Ouachita Parish
UPDATE (04/13/20): Due to the cross drain replacement, we estimate that this closure will remain in effect through May 1, 2020.
Beginning Tuesday, March 24, 2020, LA 144 in Ouachita Parish will be CLOSED approximately 2.9 miles south west of the intersection of LA 144 and LA 151. The closure location is also approximately 1.3 miles north east of the Ouachita / Jackson Parish line.
This closure will remain in effect until the damages to the roadway can be fully investigated and all necessary repairs are completed.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Permits / Detour Route
The detour route will be accessed through LA 151, LA 546, and LA 34.
