LA 347 (Grand Point Highway) northbound and southbound under the I-10 overpass will be closed on the following nights, weather permitting.

• Wednesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. until Thursday, March 19 at 6 a.m.

• Thursday, March 19 at 8 p.m. until Friday, March 20 at 6 a.m.

• Friday, March 20 at 8 p.m. until Saturday, March 21 at 6 a.m.

This closure is necessary to allow the contractor to prepare the steel girders for painting on the I-10 overpass.

The detour for northbound traffic will be I-10 eastbound to Exit 121 - LA 3177 (Butte La Rose) and then back on I-10 westbound to Exit 115 - LA 347 or continue on I-10 westbound.

The detour for southbound traffic will be I-10 westbound to Exit 109 - LA 328 (Rees Street) in Breaux Bridge and then back on I-10 eastbound to Exit 115 - LA 347 or continue on I-10 eastbound.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project Number H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in September 2020.
