REMINDER: DOTD to replace Cowpen Bayou Bridge on LA 12 – Beauregard Parish

REMINDER: DOTD to replace Cowpen Bayou Bridge on LA 12 – Beauregard Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the replacement of Cowpen Bayou Bridge (MP 31.3) on LA 12 between Clark Road and Bruce Road/South Cooley Road.

During the replacement, the bridge will be completely closed to traffic. The closure is anticipated to begin March 2, 2020, and continue until May 2020. Motorists may use LA 27, LA 110, and US 171 to detour. Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be posted on LA 12 to advise drivers of the closure and the detour.

Crews will remove the existing bridge and install a new bridge, guardrail, and pavement markings. All progress will be dependent on weather.
