*ALTERNATING LANE CLOSURES*
Jackson Street Vertical Lift Bridge over the Red River; Rapides Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that the Jackson Street vertical lift bridge, over the Red River, will undergo an In-Depth Bridge Inspection from Monday, February 17, 2020 through Friday, February 21, 2020. One lane closure will be in effect for Jackson Street with flaggers from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM each day. The bridge inspection is part of normal processes required to ensure the continued safe operation of the region’s transportation facilities.
Permit/Detour
Bridge will be reduced to one 12’ lane. Please no wide loads. In addition, periodic full closures – 15-minute maximum duration – will be necessary throughout the week in order to test the electrical and mechanical components of the lift bridge.
