The intent of this project is to replace four timber bridges with reinforced concrete bridges. On Tuesday, January 28th, the first bridge coming from the US 167 side of LA1236 will be closed and construction will begin at site 1. The bridge will be removed and pile driving will start at that site. Traffic coming from the east side of the bridge will be detoured to LA 34, and traffic coming from the west side of the bridge detoured West onto LA 126 in Dodson and then South down LA 34. As construction continues other sites will be closed to remove bridges, but only one site will be closed at a time, allowing traffic access to all sections of the road.

The project was awarded to the low bidder, W.E. McDonald and Son, LLC. in the amount of $3,663,553.19 The work associated with this project should take approximately 365 working days to complete.
