Construction has begun for State Project H.012078 LA 429: Improvements at LA 431. This project is in Ascension Parish for a length of 0.310 miles. The type of work is clearing and grubbing, grading, drainage structures, lime treatment, milling asphalt concrete, class II base course, asphalt concrete, and related work at a cost of $568,847.26.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be traffic delays and intermittent lane closures involving the intersection of LA 431/LA 429. These intermittent lane closures will occur between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm beginning October 7, 2019 thru October 11, 2019 along LA 429. This is necessary in order for the contractor to mill 2 inches of existing roadway and pave 2 inches asphalt concrete wearing course for the new roadway. Flaggers and appropriate signage will be onsite in order to facilitate and direct traffic. No permit or oversize loads will be able to pass during this closure.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
