UPDATE - REOPENED: I-49 Northbound Exit 94 at LA 498 (Rapides Station Rd.), Rapides Parish
UPDATE: All lanes of I-49 have been REOPENED. Please drive with caution through the area.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the there is an emergency road closure to all northbound traffic on I-49 due to an accident involving hazardous material at Exit 94, north of Alexandria at Rapides Station. I-49 Southbound remains open.
It is expected to remain closed for the next 10-12 hours.
Permit/Detour Section
Northbound traffic will be detoured at Exit 90 (Airbase Road) to LA 1 Northbound.

DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
