US 61: Bayou Manchac & Francois Bridges, East Baton Rouge & Ascension Parishes

Construction has begun on State Project H.000337, US 61: Bayou Manchac & Francois Bridges is in East Baton Rouge & Ascension Parish for a length of 1.490 miles. The type of work required is clearing and grubbing, removal of bridges, grading, drainage structures, class II base course, lime treatment, pavement patching, milling asphalt concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, riprap, flexible revetment, precast concrete barrier, temporary detour roads, precast concrete piles, concrete slab span bridge, precast-prestressed concrete girder bridges, temporary detour bridge (concrete), and related work.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the construction of Bayou Manchac will begin September 16, 2019. There are no lane closures at this time but there will be crane operations on the southwest end of bridge to install test piles. DOTD will continually update on future lane restrictions.
