UPDATE – NOW OPEN: I-20 at the Texas state line, Caddo Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that all lanes on I-20 at the Texas state line in Caddo Parish are now OPEN following a $17.2 million project to repair over 13 miles of the interstate.

Intermittent lane closures will be necessary over the coming weeks as the contractor completes incidental work, but round-the-clock closures are no longer in place.

Despite contending with one of the rainiest Spring seasons on record for the area, the project remained on schedule.

The section of interstate at the state line was completely reconstructed, while the remaining portion stretching to Monkhouse Drive in Shreveport received a patch, mill, and overlay to significantly improve the traveling experience.

Please be mindful of construction crews and their equipment that may still be on site, avoid distracted driving, and obey posted speed limits.
