EXTENDED - I-10 Eastbound between mile markers 103 & 105 (Vermilion River), Lafayette Parish, Lane Closure
Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 10:18:47 AM

UPDATE: This closure has been extended to Thursday, August 1 at 6 a.m., weather permitting.

The left lane of I-10 eastbound between mile markers 103 and 105 (Vermilion River) will be closed nightly beginning Sunday, July 28 at 8 p.m. until Wednesday, July 31 at 6 a.m., weather permitting.

This closure is necessary to construct asphalt wedges on the mainline near the Louisiana Avenue on and off ramps for the upcoming I-10 eastbound Traffic Swap.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through this lane closure because there is no shoulder on either side of the roadway.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to LA 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
