LA 347 (Grand Point Highway) at Doyle Melancon Road, St. Martin Parish, H.009456 – Intermittent Lane Closures

Doyle Melancon Road at LA 347 (Grand Point Highway) in St. Martin Parish will have intermittent lane closures on Monday, July 8, to install asphalt and temporary striping at the intersection of LA 347 and Doyle Melancon Road in preparation of temporarily shifting the intersection to the north.
The traffic on LA 347 (Grand Point Highway) in both directions will be diverted to the new diversion road.
The work is estimated to take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the area.
The $2.5 million project involves the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of LA 347 and Doyle Melancon Road in St. Martin Parish. Roundabouts are one-way, circular intersections designed to improve safety and efficiency for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. Roundabouts reduce crashes by decreasing stop-and-go traffic. The project began in August 2018 and is estimated for completion in August 2019.
